How Many Hours to Book a Wedding Party Bus

Church, portraits, reception, after-party — a realistic Chicago wedding clock, not a one-drop. August 28, 2026.

How Many Hours to Book a Wedding Party Bus

The invitation says 3:00 mass and 6:00 cocktail hour. The party bus does not live on that paper. It lives on the curb: getting-ready pickup, a church that sometimes runs long, portraits, and a reception door that will not hold itself.

Our minima

  • Navigator Stretch, Sprinter Luxe, Chicago trolley: 4 hours
  • Chicago 15 and Chicago 40: 5 hours

That is the floor, not a suggestion. A one-way drop from church to hall is a round-trip quote — say so in the notes. A real wedding day is hourly. The coach stays with you.

A clock that usually works

  • 4–5 hours — house → church → quick portraits → reception arrival. Tight. Works if portraits are at the church or a park next door.
  • 5–6 hours — add downtown or lakefront portraits, or a hotel pickup for the bridal party before church.
  • 6–8 hours — hotel guest loop plus bridal coach, or extra hours the same night for the after-party.

Walk the minute-by-minute version in a sample Chicago wedding timeline.

What eats the clock

Catholic masses. Large wedding parties still taking portraits after the last pew clears. A salon that is 25 minutes from the church with Saturday traffic. A hotel shuttle that has to loop twice. Build buffer into the hours — not into a speech to the photographer.

After-party the same night

Keep the same coach. Extra hours on the original request beat a second vendor at midnight. Tell admin in the notes: “hold two more hours after last dance.” We confirm by hand.

Book the hours or call (708) 465-3444. From $119/hr depending on the coach.
